LAAEYC Blog Author Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the LAAEYC blog! We're dedicated to providing valuable insights, resources, and inspiration to our audience of parents, educators, and caregivers. To maintain the quality and relevance of our content, we have established the following guidelines for our authors:

Content Focus

Our blog focuses on topics related to early childhood development, education, parenting tips, activities for children, and relevant research. We welcome articles that offer practical advice, personal experiences, and evidence-based insights in these areas.

Audience Consideration

Keep in mind that our audience consists of parents, caregivers, educators, and professionals in the early childhood field. Write in a tone that is informative, engaging, and accessible to this diverse audience.

Originality

All submissions must be original content created by you. Plagiarism or the use of content that has been previously published elsewhere, including on personal blogs or social media, is not permitted.

Length

Articles should typically range from 500 to 1,500 words. This range allows for thorough exploration of topics while ensuring readability and engagement. If your submission exceeds this range, please reach out to discuss potential exceptions.

Formatting

Whenever possible, include high-quality images, infographics, or videos to complement your written content. Ensure that you have the appropriate rights or permissions to use any visual content you include.

References

If you reference specific studies, research findings, or expert opinions, provide citations in a consistent format (e.g., APA) at the end of your article.

Editing

Before submitting your article, carefully proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, and clarity. Run through Grammarly. While our editorial team will review all submissions, polished writing increases the likelihood of acceptance.

Engagement

We will advertise on our LAAEYC social media outlets and also post on the LAAEYC website. We encourage authors to actively engage with readers by responding to comments on their articles for the first week after publication. This fosters a sense of community and allows for further discussion on the topic.

Submission Process: To submit your article for consideration, please email it to our editors by clicking on the button below. Use the subject line "Blog Submission: [Your Article Title]". Include a brief author bio (50-100 words) and any relevant social media handles or website links you would like to be included with your byline.

By adhering to these guidelines, you can help us maintain the quality and integrity of our early childhood blog while contributing valuable insights and perspectives to our community. We look forward to reading your submissions!
